Incident Summary:

07/20/1999: Suspected members of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) raided the settlement of Catete, Angola, killing two soldiers and eight civilians, and wounding several others. In addition, the perpetrators abducted an unspecified number of people and destroyed three civilian vehicles during the attack. The fate of the kidnapped was not known.
