Incident Summary:

06/14/1999: A car-bomb explosion in the Karradah al-Sharqiyah district of Baghdad, Iraq, injured several citizens and damaged neighboring buildings. A hitherto unknown Iraqi organization, the Iraqi Islamic Vanguards for National Salvation, later claimed responsibility for the attack. The group said the attack was intended "to avenge the innocent blood of the martyrs of Islam." No casualties were reported in this incident.
