02/11/1999: Eleven civilians were killed and five wounded when 100 heavily-armed Ranvir Sena members attacked Narayanpur villagers who were suspected of harboring Maoist guerrillas (Naxalites). The outlawed Indian landowners' militia threatened more attacks on Maoist sympathizers if Naxalites continued their own campaign of terror.
