09/07/1998: An Italian priest and 12 Filipinos, including several children, were kidnapped in Sibuco, Philippines. No group claimed responsibility for the attack, and all hostages were eventually released by the perpetrators. Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) was suspected in this incident.
