Incident Summary:

8/21/1998: In a series of multiple attacks, unknown perpetrators, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, planted a homemade bomb that detonated at a beach in El Marsa, Algeria. Two people were killed in the blast. Sources conflict as to whether the two dead were Algerian civilians or if the bomb exploded prematurely and killed the perpetrators.
