Incident Summary:

08/04/1998: In a series of related incidents, rebels belonging to the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) and the National Liberation Army (NLA) conducted at least 42 attacks throughout the country on August 3 and August 4, 1998, leaving 275 dead and many wounded. In this incident on August 4th, the ELN and the FARC detonated car bombs outside the Army's Fourth Brigade base in Medellin, Colombia. No one was killed or injured in this specific attack.
