02/06/1998: A female suicide bomber blew herself up at a military checkpoint, killing eight other people and wounding more than 15 in Colombo just hours after Prince Charles flew out of the Sri Lankan capital. The bomber was a member of the Liberation Tamil Tigers of Eelam (LTTE).
