Alexa Cottman-Robinson graduated from the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism in Spring 2016. She currently serves as a Multimedia Production Specialist at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START). While at START Robinson brought artistic innovation to a group of researchers. During a two-year period, she translated their findings into a dynamic multimedia platform that has reached thousands of professionals on a global level.
Through her past internships and on-campus involvement, Alexa has instituted a sound knowledge of shooting, editing, staff writing and news editing. She received recognition as a College Park Arts Scholar, formerly served as an Editor of the Campus Trainer, Blogger for the Diamondback and Media Relations Representative for the UMCP Chapter of NAACP, received several awards for artistry in writing including the Ira Berlin Writing Award and Baltimore Sun in Diversity Scholarship.
Alexa and her ViewFinder team were presented with a student Emmy award for their show titled "A Budding Industry" under the Public Affairs/Community Service category during the 58th National Capital Chesapeake Bay Regional Emmy Awards. Robinson served as the editor of this show.
