Time Magazine: Spotting the Terror Threat

START Conducts Analysis for Time Magazine

In the wake of attempted terrorist attacks in London and Glasgow in July 2007, Time magazine turned to START director Gary LaFree for information and historical data on the use of car bombs as a terrorist weapon. As noted in the article "Spotting the Terror Threat," LaFree and his research team used its Global Terrorism Database to generate analyses regarding the use of car bombs in the past, finidng that this has been a frequent mode of attack by terrorists during the past 35 years.
