START's Gary LaFree Quoted on Accurate Risk Assessment

START director Gary LaFree was contacted to offer insight for a recent International Herald Tribune article. After the initial shock of this summers' London bombings, a comparison was made between the British response to the attack, and the American reaction to 9/11. In reference to American's continued fear of air travel after 9/11, LaFree said, "Governments need to give people an accurate assessment of risk, to help them, because we know people react in ways that are often wildly irrational."
